The clatter of the coffee cup in Maya's hand nearly startled her. She stared at the email, the words blurring. Someone had taken her "Celestial Dance" print and permanently etched it on their back. A perfect replica, it seemed.

Her chest felt tight, constricted. She slammed the laptop shut, the metallic clang a harsh counterpoint to the quiet morning. Sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air, a visual annoyance that sharpened her senses.

She began to walk the length of her tiny apartment, back and forth, like a caged animal. She was trapped. She needed to break free of this feeling. Her fingers found the smooth, cool surface of her favorite jade stone, a grounding point.

She knew she would not let this go.
